Every once in a while, you read a story that makes you wonder what the point was when it is over. This story was not bad but it was not good either. It was in a word....pointless.

To be honest, I am feeling a little sad about this. I have read the first two books in this series and was looking forward to reading about how G. William was able to catch Jazz's dad, Billy Dent. Let me warn you now....there is not a lot of detective work going on in this novella. This novella instead focuses on G. William's personal struggles more than the mystery.

This story was not at all what I have come to expect from Barry Lyga. The psychological aspect was absent in piece. I have really grown to like the characters in this series but after reading this story, I think I actually like G. William a little less.

I really can not recommend this novella to anyone except maybe the most die hard Jasper Dent fan. I do plan to read future works from Barry Lyga, but I think I will most likely skip the novellas and focus on his books.
